Stories

I was only afforded a few, cherished visits with Ruthanne since I met her later in life and we didn’t live in the same state. But, had we lived in the same place, I’m certain we would have had many cups of coffee together while discussing all manner of things under the sun. She had that twinkle in her eye and what felt like an underlying naughtiness (but good-hearted). There was creative energy bubbling inside, even when she wasn’t actively doing something specifically artistic or creative. She seemed to move through life as if everything was up for interpretation in a beautiful way. I’m so grateful to be in her presence now through Amanda, who embodies exactly the qualities I use to describe her sacred mother. There’s some sort of magic in these Weaver women. What a blessing and firestarter (meant in the best possible way) Ruthanne was for those that knew her. May her creative energy live on through all of us.

Fortunate to have met her through Becky Powell; together we helped pack up Becky’s place in Denver for her move back to Mississippi; we hit it off immediately and I wish I had known her earlier to have fully known her and her creative lifestyle ~ Nina P.
