Ruthanne was unbelievably modest and self-effacing regarding her pottery. It was almost impossible to give her a compliment that she would accept. I remember complimenting her on the triangular mugs she had at the Fraser cabin. I told her that I thought the design was clever and the ergonomics perfect. Her reaction gave me the impression that she thought so little of their artistic merit that she had almost thrown them away.
